A fix is available, but requires baby steps for which nobody seem to have time to wait for, and so we are stuck in what we don't want. The Founding Fathers provided us a route of baby steps, so we are definitively one step ahead of the British. The British do not have a Constitution in which the People are a realm of power by themselves. We are.

To explain the baby steps, one has to read the US Constitution almost with a blink of an eye. Three realms of power are handed out to the Federation, to the States respectively, and to the People.

That means that the Bill of Rights can get used against the one level of government not bestowed powers in the US Constitution: the local level.

Today, we find the English voting system in place at all US levels of government, including the local level, and that is not what the Founding Fathers prescribe. We know that 'the better system' must be used, says the Bill of Rights. We know for certain that it must be used for the local levels.

And so, we have baby steps we can take. Once we realize why Proportional Voting gives voters actual power, we will want it for our States, too. Baby steps can change our nation. If you want it all today, then you will end up getting nothing.

Here is how our system functions today, using the US Senate as the example. On average 60% of the voters pick the Senator, so we have 30% of the voters getting their Democratic Senator, 30% of the voters getting their Republican Senator. Notice how the largest group of voters is the group of the Losing Voters with 40% of the voters going home empty-handed.

That means that the decisions in the Senate are made with 30% voter support, a minority voter support therefore.

Now you know why Sweden is such a good nation for its people (most of the time). The majority decisions in the Swedish House of Representatives is supported by the majority of the Swedish voters. They have Proportional Voting, so almost everyone can point their fingers to the person or party they handpicked themselves. They can point out where their votes went. With us, that's 40 percent that cannot.

The Swedes have Majority Rule once, for instance, 0.6 x 0.95 = 0.57.

We have Majority Rule twice, for instance, 0.6 x 0.6 = 0.36. That’s Minority Rule dressed up like Majority Rule.

And that is why the direction of our country is decided by an elite. We have Minority Rule (and the minority being the elite).

Come take baby steps with us. Join the Local Revolutions grassroots movement to change how we vote at the local level. If we want a better future, we have to take all the baby steps we can take and not waste our time dreaming about the large steps that are simply not available to us.
