A pin I once saw on a woman's blouse read:

"Straight but not narrow"

End of story.

It is time for the narrow folks to retire and go home, make their own decisions for themselves and stay out of other people's personal lives.

Don't abuse a lousy political system where an absolute minority can dictate how the rest of society must conform themselves. Or better: abuse it, so we will end up rioting and become a real democracy in which the narrow people turned out to be a rather small group of people, not enlightened, unAmerican, uneducated, not free, desiring other people to also not be free.
