A very nice write up, Deepak. I like your approach, probably also because it fits my thinking.
For me, matter is energy, but then wrapped onto itself. It is energy that has become self-based. It derived from a prior situation and the question can get asked if the original (dark) energy still exists or not. But it provides us a nice way to view matter as the new kid on the block in Universe 2.0, while Universe 1.0 already contained time, space and energy.
Asking where Universe 1.0 came from is complicated because we will try to answer this in Universe 2.0-mode, and that is not very helpful. On the inside, however, we can get a personal idea what the essence of Universe 1.0 was/is.
