Actually, the earth does not go in one direction, John.

There are two spots on the planet where the entire planet is either fully North or fully South. On the North pole, the entire planet is South only. On the South pole, the entire planet is North only. Twice the same planet, but with two specific positions that are each other's opposite.

Place a person on both poles, capture their daily motion with a video camera, turning once in 24 hours, and when shown next to each other, both heads up, they move in opposite directions.

I believe this reality lies underneath the Tower of Babel as well. People south of the equator, facing the equator, see the sun rise on their right sides, while people north of the equator, facing the equator, see the sun rise on their left sides. They were not building a construction to the Sun; they were building a construct of the motion of the Sun in relationship with their feet. Of course that spelled trouble.

Because you let go of your feet, and probably viewed the Earth from the Moon, you see it turn in one direction. But you forgot that you already picked which side is up. You declared it one, like standing at the top of the pyramid. You forgot that when at the bottom of the pyramid at least one corner is always invisible.

Yes, math is patterns, but if we do not recognize that the decimal system contains a very specific nature that is absent in the binary system, plus acknowledging that both can theoretically declare the exact same information, then we have yet again two perspectives that we must value fully, and each by themselves.

The 1 in the decimal system is not like the 1s in the binary system. If we do not see the distinct positions that 1 can describe, then we melded our left brain with our right brain and turned ourselves into a Cyclops. God is not a Cyclops, John, because we are made in God's image.

1 + 1 = 1 can also be done with one family + one house = one home. But the point is that 1 + 1 = 1 is meaningless by itself, just like time is meaningless. I will not burn my hands on time, though I am aware that I may not have much time on my hands.

By wagging the dog instead of the dog wagging its tail, people are reversing their logical thinking. They lose touch without solid footings. Then, when we rise above the planet the whole thing is indeed one. But at the local level, the whole thing isn't one and never was one. We have to separate the parts and name the parts truthfully.

Same with infinity; it is a concept that belongs to space. Nothing else in the entire universe can claim to be infinite. Everything is limited, except for space.

I can of course say that I can cut an apple in half, and then next cut the pieces in half and continue to do so infinitely, and the brain would have no problem with that at all. But the apple begs to differ. After 30 half-cuttings, we have apple sauce, and after 100 half-cuttings even the flavor is gone. Infinity is not a real concept for matter. Brain fart comes to mind.

So, my best wishes for you in 2022, John, and that includes the hope your feet will end up touching the ground. You are too smart to float in the air the rest of your life.
