All I am hoping for is that when the UK wants to come back to the EU that the EU will then demand democratic reform so the first-past-the-post system is forever thrown into the deep dark pit it belongs.
Thatcher took Europe down when she picked that rat-race route of competition for the sake of competition. No other nation in Europe is based on winner-take-all, and we can only thank all gods in all heavens that they lined up and expunged the UK from the EU by their own free will. Hallelujah, there is some truth to giving folks enough rope to go hang themselves.
I just wish that Europe is awake enough to never let any winner-take-all nation back into the EU.
Latest reports on the EU is that while all are going through difficult times, the neolibertarian monster is retreating. Minimum wages are propped up, the rich are taxed closer to their capabilities, and Europeans are simply becoming more European again.
I wish the Brits no harm, I like them a lot as people, but St. George has to do a better job slaying that winner-take-all dragon. Reform, Britain, become a modern nation that values its voters, empower all voters. Maybe then and not anytime sooner should the EU consider opening its doors again.
