An interesting article, Gerald. Well written.

I look at words, and when I see the word 'sin' in English, I immediately recognize the Spanish word 'sin' (without).

In Dutch, a confirmation is found that the English sin and the Spanish sin are indeed related.

Zonde (English sin)

Zonder (Spanish sin)

With the addition of the 'r' the link is extremely powerful within the same Dutch laguage. Via two routes, we can say there is indeed a linguistic link (you may or may not be impressed with that).

The explanation of the word sin is then also simple. The original sin would be to go without, to do without or to think without the other. In other words, being selfish is associated with the original sin, according to the creators of our language group.

Had to share with you. Hope you like it.
