From my point of view, the scientist and the religious person both have something in common that I reject.
I do not see how the universe could have come into being unless the prior state established that. And the only way the prior state would have been able to establish that would be with it getting its panties in a wad.
So, I reject any idea about singularity or the idea that God can still be whole, as before.
The Big Bang model has an internal mechanism in place that I find absurd. There cannot be a single state in which all was united. One cannot get a diverse result from something that is united.
Same for God. Unless God got god's panties in a wad, God could not have done it. God must have created a separation among God, otherwise creation cannot be the outcome.
So, what I see is not an age old war, but an age old debate between two parties that don't get it right. Each believes their own model, and neither model is accurate enough to be correct.
