Linear matter is dead matter, non-linear matter is alive.
In the Big Whisper model, neutrons and protons are formed from quarks that ended up being linear matter. The building blocks of quarks do not exist by themselves; only in combination with other quarks do we have a result. The quarks are declared damaged original energy that got stretched out during the materialization process (in what is known in the Big Whisper model as Zone 2).
The damaged energy is linear; there is not too much to it.
The electrons are where the action is.
The exact same amount of protons exists as there are electrons in the universe, simply because the protons have a positive charge and the universe as a whole has to be neutral in outcome.
At the quantum level, we have a charged reality, though the additional electron makes sure the overall outcome is still neutral in charge.
Had there been twice as many protons, there would have been twice as many electrons. The universe is neutral, so any additional proton would always get its match (in charge).
