The hardest part for physicists is to recognize what is real in the non-material reality of the universe.
They may know that the toy broke, but they forget that the spaces between the pieces are empty indeed, and that the special ability the toy had been able to perform is now gone forever. Everything the toy was is still there; just in tatters (plus space of absolute unimportance as a vital and fully important aspect of our universe).
