Correct. The best ways to diminish overpopulation are education (particularly education of females), equality (we are incredibly not equal at all, see GINI link), and democracy. We should consume less; we should consume better, more sustainably.

The USA, for instance, puts pressures on other nations by not sharing its own wealth with everyone within the USA appropriately. We have many people in the USA that live third-world lives; our bottom segment of society is neglected like no other rich nation in the world.
