Space and Time are the parts of the Spacetime framework.

But what they are not is that they declare anything about the universe. Spacetime is about the behavior of matter.

Just look at Newton and Einstein. What was their subject matter?

Right: the behavior of matter.

Einstein hit the nail, but he never said anything about space or time. It was always about the behavior of matter.
