Freedom of speech also means that a person can say something another person does not like. There are consequences to being truthful, but one should never be afraid to say what is in their hearts and on their minds.
For me, the word that guides me, and it is an explanation I saw, is with the word civilization. Civilization was in that explanation not that everyone was all polite and civil to one another. It was that when someone is not polite and civil to then have a response that is polite and civil. In other words, to create the space and the grace for another person to not be perfect in their expressions.
I try to make that my policy, but the other policy I have is being true to myself.
So when Putin invaded Ukraine, the wool was pulled off my eyes about any feelings of any decency I had about Putin. I could see why my parents hated Hitler in my sudden hatred for Putin. I had never expected anyone to do this super horrible and nasty stuff in Europe ever again. I have never wished anyone dead before, I simply haven't. Even with Basher Assad I wanted him captured and brought for a War tribunal. Yes, I do hate him too for being a weasel and a murderer.
Not with Putin. I have never gone to this level in my emotions ever before. I also blame the Russians who should have stepped in long before Putin ended up wagging the Russian dog. I am enjoying the downfall of Putin that seems all but inevitable.
I simply do not trust anything Russian anymore until Russia has become a democracy. It is my truth. I wish they would all sink into the ground and take Putin with them.

Schrodinger's cat is actually quite easy. Keep the lid on the box for a couple of weeks and you have certainty about the state of the cat inside the box.
