God Almighty

Or how we don’t recognize weird words when we say them often enough.

We’ve heard it so many times — God Almighty — we don’t even question if one can even use the word Almighty or not.

As it turns out, the word is not logical. It cannot be.

Consider a teacher handing out a test, saying to all students: “I hope you all do better than average.”

Of course this cannot be. If all students did their very best, then about half would do better and about half would do worse than average.

The teacher can say it. But it cannot become true.

Even when all make the exact same grade, none did better than average.

Translating the word Almighty into its two parts can make it obvious rather quickly that we are dealing with a similar issue that cannot be true.

All can be replaced with number 1, for instance.
Mighty can be replaced with 1st, for instance.

It is not possible to have something that is both All (everything) and First (on top of everyone) at the same time.

Almighty cannot be. Its construction is not possible.
