Here is a good first step for political change. In The American Truth, one can read that we have a voting system that incorporates parts of a shell game. It means that the ones behind the table receive more benefits of the setup than the participants in front of the table. That is unfair and clearly not the same as in the other version of democracy: proportional voting.
The US Constitution helps us take the first step. It demands the better system be put in place in the 14th Amendment. But the finer details declare it is available at the local level, today, only. The other levels need to be worked on later, after we recognized that we were indeed had by this 18th century system we have in place. State constitutions are fairly easy to change. US Constitution much harder.
But like a reverse Hans Brinker, we can pull our finger out of the dyke that holds the benefits for our duopoly in place. They don’t deserve it anymore.
Cities and counties are safe places to learn how a real democracy works. Let’s do it. Let’s become a 21st century nation.

I did this research in 2006 and I was not surprised our system belonged to a group that was not the best. The surprise I did have was how another system was also not that good.
