I like the idea best that we all are already Buddhas. It is with the positive starting point that we find ourselves in neutral territory in which the outside world is positive nor negative, though potentially presenting itself as both.
Then, there isn't anything wrong. Buddha has nothing to say.
Yet once a position is taken in in which the neutral is considered negative (not the desired outcome), then we can take on the challenge and turn the negative into neutral once more. Or... when not succeeding and being frustrated with that result, Buddhism can help out, making us take a good look at ourselves, presenting us mirrors about our abilities and the world we live in, plus a very warm but perhaps also complex and maybe even painful pathway of letting go, back to where we are Buddhas once more.
