I really like this article. Very insightful about this discussion. I seem to agree with Kronecker because mathematics is truly everything, and in life we do have both the real deal (matter, life, objects) and the artificial deal (paintings, computer programs). It is good to focus on the real deal (first) because the artificial aspects, (super) beneficial as they can be, can confuse us in seeing the big picture.

But that also brings me to the question if Kronecker saw zero as a natural number. I have evidence that it is and as I see this it explains why we have both the real deal (that includes 0) and the artificial deal that can be very beneficial (all of them established in the space that 0 provides).

Let me add an example of the five major religions here, to show that 0 spot.

Judaism, Christianity, and Islam are based on putting a 1 in that zero spot (not just an actual God is placed here, but also the appointment of someone as the Messiah, whether already delivered or not yet).

Meanwhile, in Hinduism (in general) and Buddhism, the zero spot is left empty and needs to be understood. When discussing God, this is then more like finding the understanding, seeing the balance, recognizing Nature, capturing the big picture.
