I wonder what Proportional Voting would do to your brother in law. In Proportional Voting you have to think for yourself who you are going to vote for. Voting against something is possible, but most people vote for something they either believe in or desire.

We don't know what we would vote for if this were a free and democratic nation. Our form of democracy is one of domination because the collective dominates; the others get nothing.

I feel for your brother in law. He is lost in this bipolar political system. He has not learned to speak for himself because there are no choices that tell him how to speak for himself.

What I like about all voters is that they are somehow smart enough to pick the 50-50 position for the two parties at the Federal level. That way, we keep them both under most control by both of them controlling the other most optimally. If we picked one over the other, say 60-40 percent, then we would end up living in a real dictatorship. Neither party is good enough to be my dictator, let me tell you. So, I am glad that voters, for decades really, keep that 50-50 position in sight. It is the only way to not make either party a dictator of all of us.

There are more reasons why District Voting is bad.

The Founding Fathers did leave us a gift. It's just a tiny door in the house called US Constitution, but we can walk through it and demand Proportional Voting at the local level. That's a good start.

Did you hear? Voters are already demanding Proportional Voting in their cities and claim that the Founding Fathers are with them.

Go tell your brother in law. Give him something useful to do.
