In the USA economy, we have plenty of choice. In the USA political system, we are herded like sheep.

To get a better society, we should start opening up our local elections toward political freedom and use Thomas Jefferson's voting system (proportional voting).

By allowing ourselves more political freedom at the local level, and perhaps more political freedom at the State level, we will automatically become a freer nation, less frustrated.

Today, we are always ruled by a minority, be it left or be it right. We are never ruled by a majority.

In Thomas Jefferson's system, most people get to pick their actual representatives. So, when 90% gets who they picked, and all these winners deciding with 60% on an issue, that issue has 54% voter support.

In our system, we have 60% of the voters pick the winners, and when the winners decide with 60% an issue, then that issue has 36% voter support.

We were had, folks. We are not the Land of the Free, except in economic and military sense; in that case, we are the best. But in politics, we have to walk through two little doors and sing Hallelujah if we even got our own representative to represent us.
