It is modeling, Benjamin, pure simple mechanical modeling.

I just wrapped up a discussion with a physicist who -as many like him- is unable to see that next to the model of a Black Hole there should also be scientific attention for that same phenomenon being a Black Eye instead.

They can't go there. They cannot open their second eye without closing the one that was open at first.

Can you imagine how difficult it is to explain depth to someone born with just one functioning eye? It is close to impossible.

Pigeons' eyes are so close to one another that they have to cock their heads to improve the 3D vision. Folks don’t do that, but it would help their view a lot.

Many people use one brain hemisphere to see the world.

Gödel already provided the answer, but one-eyes cannot see it, reject it.

As last resort, I tried the following on the physicist to have him see two models.

Model A

1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9.

Naturally, the number in the middle is 5.

Model B

0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9.

Naturally, the number in the middle is 4.5.

While it should be obvious that 0 did not add any additional information to the mix, that zero number occupying a first position shifted the outcome from 5 to 4.5 and no intelligent person can deny this.

Yet what otherwise smart folks are doing (because they have that internal drive to make everything one), they take out their gun and kill one of the two options. They close on of their eyes. There, all is the same again.

Here is the problem, Benjamin. One sees it or one does not see it. And based on what one sees, the truth is declared about the world. No further investigation needed. Once the gun killed one of the options, world peace returneth.

Physicists are perhaps the last group of one-eyed people left in the world with a very high IQ. Yes, there are plenty one-eyed people in the world, but these physicists are super smart which makes their dumbness more egregious.

They specialize themselves to an enormous height and they see their own trees really well. But when it comes to the forest, they fail to see the clearings in the forest. They see their trees and think everything about the forest is the forest with lots of trees only, no clearings.

Very sadly, they do not investigate. When they hear someone else declare that a Black Eye is equally possible, or that the Big Whisper is better than the Big Bang theory, they do not investigate. At best, they peruse the surface and at first conflict they reject the proposal. They are not curious.

It is far worse than you think it is, Benjamin. While we must admire them greatly for what they discovered, our physicists are one-eye blind about the big picture. The ones telling it the way it really is are ignored.
