Many nations in the world are following the examples of the leading nations, even when the pathway is not good for us all. Yet some nations have a stronger compass and they are better for society, the environment, and receive a higher overall happiness grade as well.
The sad part is that the strong nations are so stuck in their desire to be strong that they don't follow the example of the good nations.
The United States could, for instance, investigate why the Scandinavian countries are having the We The People societies, while we have a banner that says We The People, but we all know better than thinking it is our reality.
What they have is full representation. They are actually more in control over their own government; they are actually more in control over their own industries, and they are actually more in control of their own lives.
The Founding Fathers wrote We The People, and then something went awry. We got a two-party system and that was not the plan.
But the Founding Fathers were very smart. They made sure that the wording of the US Constitution and the Bill of Rights contained action we can take to make our democracy work better for us all.
They did two things at the same time:
They wrote a Constitution that made our Federal government strong (they did not want a system that would centrifuge powers into thirteen different directions and establish a quick fall for the new Nation).
Plus, they also gave powers to the People.
No other nation in the world has done that.
The fantastic news: Cities and counties were not given US Constitutional powers, while the People are given powers. So, we should know that we can demand the Best Voting System (Proportional Voting) for our cities and counties. We can improve our good cop/bad cop system.
We can actually demand the same for State elections, but in the US Constitution the States are given many freedoms (read: loopholes) so they can avoid our demand. Still, once more than half the people in a State want better State elections, then it is very simple to get that.
The US Constitution is very difficult to change (and we should be happy about that). The other levels? Not that difficult at all.
See in the article below how today we have Invoked the US Constitution in more than 100 cities and counties already. Come join us. We can have a better society that is more like what the happy nations in the world have today. Join us in making the world a better place, starting right here at home.
