My dear friend Emile has an autistic son also, so I hear what you are saying, Dave.

In their case, some medication became available around the time he got to be 16 years old and improved not to a fully independent level, but enough to moderate his behavior toward socially acceptable and he ended up living in special housing. Yes, his parents are still much involved with him, but can take breaks from being full-time parents.

What I always appreciate about Emile is that he truly means it when he describes his son as a gift and an enrichment of enormous value in his life. He and his wife love their son to pieces, appreciating the ‘warts and all.’

It also sounds like you have finished your work. Unless Medium goes belly-up, your work will remain available for others to enjoy, investigate, and perhaps one day study as part of the larger changes that took place in our time in democratic North-America.

Yes, I contribute to Fair Vote Canada (not Fair Vote USA) and have some of my will monies go to them (no, I am not a rich person, so they'll just get some 'feel-good' money from me).

I like that Fair Vote Canada always put PR first, whereas FV USA focused all that time and attention on Ranked-Choice Voting. I am glad, though, that they were able to fit in half-approaches for PR in eight Stateling cities. Half is better than none, right?

What makes me happy, too, is that you declare to be living in a place that is well run, and therefore the need to overcome great obstacles are not on the radar.

I, too, am careful not to inundate family and friends with too much of that ‘horrible 2-party system' talk. But once half the night is spent on Trump, Republicans, Democrats, and what-not, I will put in a little more than 2 cents on the voting system of course. I can't help myself.

Thank you for the personal note. I want you to know that I appreciate it much.
