My version of what happened starts out with the Hunger Games. Nothing deep, just the resemblance of one (or some) of the twelve tribes doing the fighting and the 13th tribe (the elite) hovering above everyone doing nothing but enjoying themselves with these tribulations.

Basically, the insurgence was doomed from the start because the leader was partying in a tent, not leading the pack other than with words. Trump c.s. were not going to spill their own blood, but didn't mind if others did.

Once the tribe was inside, they noticed there was no leader, even though he had said he'd be there. Then, like children without parents, they ended up ransacking the place. They had been abandoned by their leader and they let their anger lead them instead.

What is the deeper backdrop is that the Hunger Games are already showing quite well how Winner-Take-All works. The ones in the good seats make decisions that the tribes need to work out and follow, till death even. The consequences are carried by the tribes, and the disconnect between the tribes and the decision makers is real in our United States, perhaps was always real since this restricted voting system got a hold.

This was a strange event in Washington.

Let's all admit that there was a tremendous disconnect expressed. The ransacking tribe expressed its frustration with the disconnect it experiences with Washington DC. This time, they were white supremacists and the yikes. Next time, it will be another group. The facade of the Capitol as a bulwark has been lifted, and it shouldn't be a surprise if we see this again as long as the disconnect between the representatives and the people they 'represent' remains real.

We should not have a democracy that resembles the Hunger Games.

It is strange, but we can say that in the system we have, the winner has always been the Losing Party. The Hunger Games was a movie and had a good storyline. I think I saw it manifested in Washington DC and it was a combination of real power and fantasy worlds collidiing.

I hope we will get the USA 2.0 upgrade soon and not repeat this slippery slope of tribes bickering among themselves, fighting with all they have.
