One option is to demand voting reform, Gerard. That really scares politicians, particularly if you tell them you are going to vote for someone else (or start running yourself).

Our system is winner-take-all, which means our representatives only need to make the majority happy, and in this case the insurance companies put a lot of weight on that 'majority' side.

The US Constitution already says nothing about which voting system we must have, in most cases. But the 14th Amendment has been ruled to demand governments put the better system in place and not use a discriminating system. Winner-takes-all discriminates big time, and there is a better system available. We can go and get this, today.

I hope you speak up as you say you will. But perhaps even before any onset of a major disease.
