So true, and the hope that keeps me going is that we can turn around. So much is lost already, but we can stop our destructive behaviors and hold on to as much nature as we can.

Things that work: Education, equality, good distribution of wealth. We need better nations in this world.

One way is to get rid of all winner-take-all voting systems because when there is just one seat, we are all competing at our max.

Have you ever watch Musical Chairs? Everyone thinks it is fun, and has a good time at first. But getting closer to that last chair, and the sharpest sharkest aspect in human nature comes out. The setup of the game causes that outcome. Change the setup and we may have less fun, but the outcome will also be less devastating.

Let's get rid of all presidents (have prime-ministers instead), let's get rid of all nations that have pure winner-take-all elections (and make them have fair elections or mixtures of elections that minimize the competition-for-the-sake-of-competition of winner-take-all).

We need smart governments, not shark governments nor governments that sit on their butts all the time, doing nothing much.
