Thank you for your reply. A non-believer and an atheist are indeed rather similar, yet there is a difference.

Atheism is an expression of (dis)belief, whereas a non-believer does not go into the realm of beliefs at all. A non-believer does not deny whatever others are saying. A non-believer does not deny that a belief professed by someone else can be true.
