For me, this shows how enormously obvious the binary system is to me. I really considered the Babylonians, the Greeks and the Chinese as aware of the binary system already.

Just the idea that we call out time as having seconds should show us that the binary setting of time (there are no firsts, only seconds) must have been really old already.

Let me sit on this a bit longer. I really have a hard time considering this a modern invention, except mathematically then as 1s and 0s.
