That is a real good question, Corinne. At one point, we cannot see if the dog is wagging its tail or if the dog is being wagged.

Status quo leans more to the powerful than those desiring to change the status quo.

That said, you are asking for my common reply: We have a Libertarian economy, but we do not have a Libertarian political system. Our politicians are elected by the majority of the voters and the (large) minority is simply not present at the table of decision making.

So, that is 2-0 for the status quo. We do see a left wing and a right wing in our political theater, but most often the status quo is with the center. These last years are certainly interesting in a breaking apart of that center. I hope we have become a better democracy before that happens (but not to the point we get twenty little parties).

- Russia is solidly led by a small political elite.

- The USA is led by a political elite.

I want a better world, run better.
