Competition in sports is fun. Of course it feels better when your favorite club wins. Nevertheless, being excited about the game, and simply seeing players give it their all, that is -in itself- a wonderful experience already. Out there, others are on a sport’s stage, entertaining us, moving us, thrilling us with their craftsmanship. Ultimately, it is everyone’s win.
In politics, too, there can be wonderful moments, for instance, when a much desired rule or regulation is put in place, the one you longed for since you were young. Yet, instead of sportsmen giving their best at a sport’s stage we can watch from a distance, politicians make decisions that affect our very own lives.
Instead of giving us what we want, politicians can also take our most cherished rule or regulation away from us.

When things go well for most of us, we may not wonder if the game is truly fair or not, ain’t that right?
When things don’t go well for us, it is probably too late to wonder if the game was fair. We accepted the setup, and we better win. When we lose, we simply lose. Sometimes, though, the entire game is lost, and we did not see it coming.
