Let’s stay with the truth, and not walk into the room thinking it is the whole house. Let’s talk about the whole house.

The first step is correctly analyzing what the problem is, and you are not doing that correctly, Lauren. Then, the second step is moving forward in those areas where we can move forward.

But first off, an otherwise good article, and I hear where you are coming from.

The true core of our problem as a democracy is that we have winner-take-all. As long as you do not put that in first spot, then you are fighting symptoms, swallowing pills to fight the symptoms and you are then not addressing the real problem.

Did you know that as voters we have about half the empowerment that voters have in the other form of democracy?

The Founding Fathers are actually coming to the rescue. It is just a small step that we can take, but it is a helpful one and we can take it today.

If you follow that link, then you can find that cities are being 'invoked' -- meaning they are put on notice that they are violating the US Constitution by segregating us in voting districts first and then declaring them each other's equals next.

Separate-but-equal is unconstitutional for the local level (sorry, it is allowed for the Federal level), and yet we find district voting all across the nation (or that other flawed voting system, at-large).

The Founding Fathers could not be more clear: With the Bill of Rights, we can demand that cities and counties hold elections using the better voting system (which is proportional voting in which voters are valued at double the power we have today).

Join the new movement. It is just a small beginning, but fixing the crummy voting system at the local level is a fantastic first step. The bottom of our political society can get changed. Just ask, and your city will receive an Invocation, the first step toward changing the system.

The Founding Fathers are with us.
