The Framers gave us an excellent voting system, but we did not get it.

The Federal level has prescribed voting systems, for instance, two Senators per State, elected separately. This can't be changed (easily).

The 14th Amendment says that "No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States" and that means that we are entitled to our privileges of representation.

It is not a privilege to vote and then not receive. It is not a privilege to all work and then just 60% of the workers getting paid.

So, for State and lower levels, we should have the voting system in place that Thomas Jefferson first devised and that is in use in Sweden, the Netherlands and Spain.

We do not have the privilege of representation for the Federal level, but we are entitled to getting the best of the best there is for State and local elections.
