The Good News? The Founding Fathers are pointing us in the right direction to move forward. And it is not Secession.
They did not mention cities and counties in the US Constitution. That means that cities and counties must follow the Bill of rights 100% and they do not have a cop out like the States have.
By segregating voters in districts first and next declaring them each other's equals, cities and counties do something unconstitutional. Separate-but-equal is not allowed for the local level.
They must use the Inclusive form of Democracy and are not allowed to use the Exclusive form of Democracy.
Why does this matter?
With segregating voters before they even cast a single vote, the system of divide-and-conquer won the first round.
The result is an Exclusive Democracy in which group think rules. Only the winners sit around the table, not the representatives of all voters.
Many people that grew up with district voting can't see why it is bad. Imagine your city with five council seats and having those seats elected based on age groups?

Stupid, right? But that is district voting. A division, no matter the good or bad reasons, is still a division. It undermines how a democracy functions. It warps us to speaking red or blue out of our mouths, and green, yellow and orange are spun as if they are red and blue.

There is nothing wrong with keeping the United States intact. But we must have representatives that are smarter than what we have right now. We are not allowed to speak up in the most intelligent manners; we are kept dumb because our voting system is not the smartest there is.
Cut ourselves in little pieces and the result will be a mediocre patchwork of nations, none empowered to have a meaningful position in the world. We're likely going to fight each other once the benefits of being a super power fall away.
