The issue I am trying to point out is perhaps told best with the following question:
Is Nature in essence male or female?
I am using this example, because it is obvious that there is something wrong with this question. Nature encapsulates both male and female. It is nonsense to ask whether Nature is one or the other, when in reality it is both (and more than both because not every aspect in Nature is gender based).
So, when stating that "Mathematics, no doubt, is the language of the universe," then you are making the same mistake. You wanted a single answer (a single language) where there is no single answer. Any single answer will be incorrect because the premise of the single outcome is incorrect.
Zero being omnipresent 'destroys' the idea that there is a single outcome at the overall or intrinsic level. The one exception is 'Energy' which can be applied to all that is. Yet the presence of space in between all Energy once more 'destroys' the idea that Energy is truly all there is, because the absence of Energy must be included in the bigger picture.
The mind sees a relationship among all there is, wants to investigate, but instead of the dog wagging the tail, one can have the tail wagging the dog. The dog is singular, but the tail cannot wag the dog.
Other than that, a real good article. A pleasure to read.
