The need to reconcile differences is a human need. It is not an absolute necessity.

At all levels in the universe, we see an urge with matter to converge. Except at the largest level.

In the universe, we see convergence occurring ubiquitously. Yet at the overall level convergence is missing.

This means that the origin was extremely likely based on a unifying principle that ultimately got undermined by... convergent action.

Then, convergent action caused parts to enter into a conflict that could not be resolved (says the resulting matter), and we now live in a universe in which matter is focused on convergence, while the largest of levels shows us how it could not maintain convergence at the highest level.

'Two Closed Systems, Not One'

Because differences that are too far apart cannot (and should not) be reconciled.
