The opposite has been proven already -- of course.
The idea that we live in a simulation is very funny because it means that the essence of us is not the essence of who we are. And that is simply not possible.
So, what is going on here?
Physicists and other enthusiasts have moved away from the basics of science.
In the old days, science was based on data and gathered evidence. Feet on the ground.
Today, science is based on theories. Yes, that is right. Theories have become the foundation of science.
So, no surprise that someone came up with the idea that we live in a simulation because their brains already reversed order.
How did that happen?
Spacetime.
Many folks think that spacetime is about our universe, or that it is about space and time. In reality, it is about none of the above.
Spacetime is about the behavior of matter.
Are you paying close attention? I am asking because -apparently- many are not paying attention.
It turns out that spacetime is a framework to predict how matter in space behaves. It works pretty darn good, so that is not where the problem lies.
The problem happens when Newton is no longer the foundation of science, and Einstein is misunderstood and subsequently his work is taken to be the foundation of science. The universe upside-down. Not feet on the ground, but feet on a theory. That is dumb (no matter how great the theory is).
Never should a tool be the essence of reality. Just because tools are our smartest inventions does not mean we should worship them like gods.
Newton focused on the behavior of matter. Einstein focused on the behavior of matter. Einstein figured out the system to predict the outcomes correctly (there are other options available, but that is not for now).
Then, third parties put that framework on the floor of Science.
That is like saying that the tape measure was involved with how tall you grew in life because the tape measure is never wrong.
Correct, the tape measure is never wrong. But the tool is not the same as reality.
Back to the simulation theory.
Some person didn't understand Science well (yes, many don't get it; many with physics degrees) and he suggested that God is not in the Machine, but that we are instead. Very funny!

I know you are doing your best, wrote a good article, but these feet are not on the ground. Having your feet on a scientific theory that tells you that you have your feet on the ground when in reality they are reversed, they are up in the air, that is never a smart thing.
