The problem is that physicists want matter to be of one field. They do not recognize that there are two kinds of matter: linear and non-linear.
The true basics of matter is actually declared already by pointing to the quarks and electrons. Of course, the entire picture is one with far greater complexities, yet one can simplify everything material to these two parts. The interesting aspect?
Quarks nor electrons are self-based.
The quarks cannot exist by themselves in a natural setting, immediately form the neutrons and protons. With them, we have the linear matter explained. The neutrons and protons sit in the nuclei of atoms and only then can we declare these outcomes as self-based.
The fact that quarks and electrons are not self-based confirm that we live in a result. We do not live in the original state of the universe.
To have quarks come into existence, something dramatically had to have happened some 13.8 billion years ago. But we do not need to go from quantum fields to quarks; we need to go from immaterial energy to quarks. This may seem the same, but the idea of quantum fields quantifies original energy and that kind of thinking needs to be prevented.
We have no scientific data about anything material prior to 13.8 billion years, so let's not use anything other than that word Energy. We know it does not get lost, so we are good to envision the transformation of that energy into quarks. The surprise?
The prior whole could not have become the current whole. One cannot have a prior whole become a fundamentally new outcome and have it be whole. Had it been whole somehow like that prior whole, it would have returned to its original state in a zap, 15 minutes at the most. It is bad structural thinking to envision this possible, one cannot have something change fundamentally while staying intact. Something fundamental had to break first.
So, all we need is the larger part of that prior whole cause havoc on a much smaller part of that previous whole to end up with a fundamental break. We have to end up with two parts that are behaving distinctly, and the story is already done when one part ended up being damaged, known to us as quarks.
Once the protons are established the universe as a whole, that was neutral in charge before and is neutral in charge today, had to do something to neutralize that proton. The electron got pulled in from the large amount of remaining undamaged original energy.
Non-linear energy got pulled in to neutralize a side-effect of the linear energy.
Matter exists on two levels. Matter got established via two different pathways from what was originally just one kind of energy.
