The truth is that 75 million Americans voted for him. I doubt they voted for him because they all think he is their hero. I think many voted for him because he is the personified middle finger voters can place in the face of Washington DC. Why is that so?

Because... our 18th century system is not very good at representing us. The disconnect between us and the representatives is real. There is something fake about our 'representatives' and we are not given the chance to express ourselves better.

First off, to walk into that building through our votes, we must choose the red pill or the blue pill. There is already no yellow pill. There is no freedom to express ourselves except through the chosen candidates that the Machines put in front of us. We are in the house of Mom&Dad, and we are not allowed to leave. We are not emancipated in our political freedom.

Did you know that the Losing Party is always the winner in our voting system?

It sounds strange, but it is actually true.

The easiest path toward reform is at the local level. We can put proportional voting in place today and this would already make our politicians pay much more attention to us than they do now. Did you know that the US is mostly a one-party system at the local level? Perhaps you live in a place where Red and Blue have some seats, but most locations have just Red or just Blue in their seats, and then they pretend they are not Red/Blue.

Vote for voting reform candidates if you believe in democracy. If we all vote for reform, then we can become a democracy indeed.
