The UK and the USA are kleptocracies indeed, but they are also winner-take-all democracies, so what would you expect, right?
The UK and the USA do not have political freedom. They both show up pretty low on the voter-turnout list because their elections are not very attractive; they don't give power to the voters.
Would you go to the same restaurant often if they had spaghetti and macaroni on the menu and you would only get what the majority in the restaurant picked? Of course not.
The worse part is that the British and American Anglo nations got the world by the balls and try to bring the rest of the world down with them. For that, I am eternally grateful that the British took themselves out of the EU.
Where Thatcher dominated the EEC from the inside, Truss was not able to do the same because... outside the EU.
I feel for the British people, as do I for the folks in the USA. But the way out is to get the real democracy in place.
Real democracies control capitalism better (though indeed undermined by UK and US). The happier nations are those with the better forms of democracy. Nothing perfect, just happier.
You see it real well. Now go out and get the real democracy you deserve.
