The Zodiac and DNA

Both share a surprising structural aspect.

The translation of the word Cosmos is order, though one good look at the night sky and most of us would not suspect any ordering at all, not in a million years. Nevertheless, the universe is guided by structure. That is… the things in the universe are guided by structure, not the universe itself.

The word Universe is not much more than a catch-all name, an all-inclusive word, a name tag making us think ‘mother of all realities.’ We all know what the word means, but this article is about the things in the universe, not about that catch-all noun.

Both the largest and the smallest levels of organization should tell us the most about what is going on in this extraordinary world we live in. For this article, the focus is on DNA and on Zodiac Signs. These two are picked because they show us a specific form of organization, while their organization has an interesting aspect in common.

DNA stands for Deoxyribo-Nucleic Acid, and it is “the molecule that carries genetic information for the development and functioning of an organism.” Two strands of DNA wind around each other in a shape known as a double helix.

The two strands are connected by four distinct chemical bonds between the bases: adenine (A), cytosine (C), guanine (G), and thymine (T). The interesting part is that adenine bonds with thymine, but not with cytosine or guanine. Cytosine bonds with guanine, but not with adenine or thymine. Keep that in mind.

The word Zodiac implies we are talking about animal-like figures. Indeed, most of the signs found on the path that the Sun takes through space on a yearly basis are animal-like figures. People are born under a certain sign.

There are twelve signs, yet they are captured in four different groups, the same number therefore as the number of chemical bonds seen with DNA. These four groups are air signs, earth signs, water signs, and fire signs.

Organization is key, and each air sign (Aquarius, Gemini, and Libra) finds, at the opposite end of the Zodiac, a fire sign (Aries, Leo, Sagittarius). Each water sign (Pisces, Cancer, Scorpio) has as oppositional partner an earth sign (Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn).

What links this peculiar structural aspect to that of DNA is that the two pairs do not mix and mingle. There are no air signs pairing with water or earth signs. No fire signs pair with water or earth sings.

Obviously, it should not be much of a problem to pair fire with earth, right? Or air with earth.

  • Yet a real problem would be to pair water with fire.

As most of us know, there is no easy manner in which to combine water with fire, except for the relatively unusual setting of building a campfire in the middle of winter on solidly frozen ice.

Seemingly, the teaming up of water with earth, and the teaming up of fire with air, allows for the coexistence of water and fire. As long as water and fire are not linked in a direct manner, one can experience in relative peace the benefits that water and fire each can bring.

Taking this information back to DNA, the suggestion can be made, based on this structural similarity, that among A, C, G and T, there is one pair that is like cat and dog. The suggestion is made that they will not get along when paired up. The goal of this article is not about discovering which pair that would be. The article would become too technical, and the finer point would be lost quickly.

Note how there could be many different Zodiac pairs: earth-water, earth-air, earth-fire, water-air, fire-air. Again, there is then no functional sixth pair of water and fire.

For any other combinations in which water or fire takes place, the benefit is apparently not sufficient enough. In one example, water and air mixing means that there is no grounding feature for air or water. In another example, fire and earth mixing may lead then very well to a scorched earth.

  • The most innocent outcome, while incorporating all benefits, occurs therefore when water pairs with earth, and when fire pairs with air.

In this setup, one can discover an effortless outcome when both groups team up for the ultimate outcome.

When fire (in one pair) is too strong for earth (in the other pair), then earth has water as its partner, helping to cool things down. And when water (in one pair) is too much for air (in the other pair), then air has fire as its partner, helping to boil that water quickly to nothing but steam.

  • In short, the outcome is not a strict outcome that declares how all is controlled in some structural form of order, but rather how a balanced outcome is maintained that provides all their opportunity to shine.

The Zodiac Wheel is not a helix, and yet the Solar System and the Milky Way do move in a singular direction through space, based squarely on the initial push of the Big Bang. The first law of physics declares that anything that is in motion remains in motion at a constant velocity unless acted on by an external force. So, the force that gave us all a good shove some 13.8 billion years ago may itself be spent, yet the subsequent action is ongoing.

For certain, the Zodiac is a wheel and yet our trip through space takes place with the wheel then in effect a spiraling reality since the inception of matter.

This provides an additional viewpoint for the structural order discussed in this article: Everything is on the move and that provides an organizational benefit. There is a play going on, or perhaps better to say, an inter-play is seen among the specific outcomes that are all still based on that original send-off.

  • An ongoing attempt appears to continue of reclaiming the balance that was seemingly lost in the materialization process of the universe. The schism of the materialization process is overcome at the smaller level, like all trying to hold hands (but not with the one you are upset about).

The final point to make here is that there is information in distance. When pairs are lined up in A-Ts and C-Gs along a double helix, then distance can be experienced by all participating. This specific form of organization provides more than just the contents of As, Ts, Cs, and Gs. There is a sureness with the distance of a single turn of the helix.

  • Like a street or block in a city, one can witness distance within the city when communicating to ‘take a right at the corner and then go three blocks.’ Not every house needs to be mentioned, one can communicate about blocks instead. The organization of a city allows a beneficial skip on the details therefore.

DNA is therefore not just the organization it is. There is an inter-play among the parts, and the specific setup provides vital information that helps maintain each part in this larger setting in surprising manners.

One look at the night sky and one would not suspect there is order to the cosmos. Yet look and look again, since structure will slowly form in the human mind that tells us that there was an origin from which we derived.
