There are solutions available, Keith, yet they require understanding what is not right at this moment at the home front. When focusing on what is above, we often fail to see what occurs right at our feet below.

We call ourselves a democracy, but in reality we have voters competing with voters for representation. That really undermines society as a whole, yet this is often not recognized as part of the warped outcomes.

The way we vote in the USA means that majority rule is applied twice (once for the win, and then once more with the winners making majority decisions). It means an elite is controlling the direction of our nation (0.6 x 0.6 = 0.36), while we tell each other that the majority is controlling the nation.

The system is at fault, and we are exporting competition for the sake of competition to the rest of the world (which is never good except in sports), including to the nations that have the real form of democracy. A race to the bottom is the more likely outcome of competition for competition’s sake.

Grassroots movement Local Revolutions is taking steps to make changes where it matters. We are working within the confines of the US Constitution -- meaning we work with a legal pathway to establish change that is available to us right now on short notice.

As you can understand, working within the US Constitution means that only baby steps can get taken, but as you mentioned there is an urgency; we need to take the baby steps we can take and not avoid them when they can make the setup better.

If you want, come join us, or let us now what your City and State is and we will invoke your city, demanding they put the real democracy in place at the local level.

Once we learn how that real form of democracy functions, we can take it to the State level. We can change the USA; the Founding Fathers are with us.
