There is another way, Corinne: following what the US Constitution says we should do.

This is what is written in the US Constitution, voting-system-wise.

Federal level: Concentration of Powers (so we can be a strong nation, and yes we are).

State levels: XXXXX (the US Constitution declares conflicting things for State elections)

Local Levels: We The People galore (here we are truly free of governmental interference, the government has to bend to us; see Ninth, Tenth, and Fourteenth Amendments).

Unfortunately, what we find in place is:

Federal level: Concentration of Powers

State levels: Concentration of Powers

Local Levels: Concentration of Powers

The State powers that be started to compete with one another and with the Federal level right from the onset, and in doing so ended up doing what the US Constitution told them explicitly not to do: grabbing powers wherever they could, including the powers delivered to the People.

Based on research, nations that are based on winner-take-all give in general more to the rich and less to the poor (no surprise there), and demanding that we get our Thomas Jefferson We The People voting system at the local level (and then later at the State level) will make this a smarter and less selfish nation.

Help me promote the truth, because we have our pockets full of political spin and the truth can set us free(er) indeed.
