There is no single Western culture. There are two fundamental distinctions (and there are some varieties based on both these two versions).

In the UK and the USA, many people are pushed down through political power structures and their struggles to keep rising despite the downward pressures makes these nations very powerful.

Political elites in other nations try their very best to keep as much power to themselves as well (think Italy, and to some extent France).

Yet many people in most Western nations have a lust for political freedom that cannot be tamed by the powers that be. The elite will try to suppress all as much as they can, but they will have a harder time than in the USA, the UK, and Italy.

So, when you mention Western culture, you have to make a distinction between, say, USA with its three political powers (presidency, senate, house, making voters weak because their votes end up fighting with their votes), and, say, Sweden with its single House and nothing else (keeping voters strong through their single vote).

The divide-and-conquer of the UK and the USA (and Italy and France) is obvious for anyone to see.

The collaborate nature until-you-drop (as seen with the Germans and the Dutch, for instance) is quite distinct. The cultures are called out by you as Western culture, but I believe it is the USA and the UK that find themselves in a bind. Most Western cultures will be fine as long as they keep working together to keep the nasty enemy out.

Nasty enemy in Europe today: Putin.

Yes, the Russians are pushed down by the world, yet instead of forming the solution, they desired to be the problem. Very immature.

Western culture survives, had a lot of history. But the bad players need to get weeded out.
