There is something more going on.

At the Exploratorium in San Francisco, I saw this exhibit in which a cylinder could get turned by a visitor. In it, water and silver slivers.

Then, the visitor would stop the turning, while the whirlpool inside the cylinder continued, slowing down ever so slightly over time.

Long before the whirlpool had stopped, all silver slivers had collected themselves already on the bottom of the cylinder.

Two things were happening at the same time:

A/ Earth's gravity pulled the silver slivers down.

B/ The slowing whirlpool created a collection center in which all silver slivers were collected.

The center collected the silver slivers exactly because of the lack of motion.

Once a visitor cranked up the cylinder again, all silver slivers would get picked up by the fast moving whirlpool.

So, we see with the sun that we have a collection center of non-motion in respect to the circular motion of the Solar System.

Basically, all energy that got collected here is stuck in place, lacking sideway, circular motion, and that is good for us, of course.

Because none of this matter could escape (and had kept collecting more material until a satisfying threshold had been reached), we can understand how the 'naked' photons are the only once to escape the edge of the whirlpool we find outside the sun.
