The True Reason She Is Out: Brexit!

When Liz Truss got selected as Prime-Minister by the Conservative Party, she wanted to follow in the footsteps of Margaret Thatcher, the Iron Lady. She does present herself capable of taking the same steps as Thatcher, yet Truss did not succeed.

What is the real difference between her and Margaret Thatcher?

Brexit!

When Margaret Thatcher made her sweeping decisions that changed the world, the UK was part of the European Economic Community. The decision by the Iron Lady to take Britain down a path of winner-take-all, competition for the sake of competition, caused mayhem on the European Mainland. There was no option for Europe but to follow the steep path downward and hail neoliberalism (free-market thinking, deregulation, minimizing the role government plays) as the new religion.

Together with Ronald Reagan, both Anglo nations made the world take a sharp turn toward that unencumbered free-market mechanism.

Yet where people, businesses and governments in the European Economic Community had to pay very close attention to one of its members, the UK is no longer part of what is now the European Union.
