Very good reply, Benjamin, and I am glad you are taking this back to your article.

I must correct you about individualism because it is again the red and blue story with not seeing the yellow well. Not in our system, but with proportional voting do the individuals cast their votes and each of them gets then what they voted for.

We vote in districts, so the individual vote has less direct meaning. It still counts toward the outcome, but we vote collectively. We are a nation of collectivism (but often fail to see it) and we are collectively telling each other that we are a nation of individualism (and are behaving accordingly). That is the yellow of the full-color version that we were not made aware off and that our brains did not perceive (I hope that makes it understandable).

I am placing the picture of my article here once more:

As you can see, the same birds are clearly visible to the left as they are to the right.

Though the input is on many levels the same, a person from a two-party system would not recognize the green, yellow and orange features pointed out by a the person in the proportional system. After all, those details do not make sense….

Vice versa, the person to the right would not understand why the person to the left thinks so strongly about blue or red. After all, the wings are the largest features and they are green….

Thanks again, Benjamin. Glad you pointed out your perspectives again so we remain focused on your story line.
