We know what the source of the problems is indeed, Lela. Our voting system is the worst democratic system one can have and still call it democratic. This would all not have happened in a nation with four political parties, because four parties keep each other (more) honest.

Two parties? Competition for competition sake.

Why is that bad?

Because the truth is then not important anymore, just as you show quite well in your article.

Four parties keep each other honest because the voters end up with real choices. While some may go for power, many will go for truth for the sake of their own well-being.

A duopoly is not healthy, particularly when the game has been playing out for a while (in this case since WW II) and we are back at the wealth distributions we saw before 1929 hit Wall Street.

Our system is unhealthy -- bipolar.

Good article, you articulate yourself well.
