We should get what the US Constitution demands right now:

Proportional voting at State and local levels, and leave the Federal level as is.

See 14th Amendment: "No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States."

The Federal elections are setup to not be pure, but the Framers told the States explicitly to do as we say and NOT do as we do.

What happened?

The States pulled out their middle fingers and concentrated powers to the max for themselves.

When we implement the US Constitution as declared, we will be a three to five party nation at the Federal level.
