Well written, Andre, and while you are completely right, you did not address the sanctity of sanctities: Our system is rotten.

I can’t tell you how many people agree with me and next continue to sit on their hands and do nothing. The real deal is our rotten system. The hippies in the sixties knew it already. Everyone in their hearts of hearts knows that our system is rotten.

Yes, you read that correctly. The US Constitution declares we must have the better voting system in place, and the entire document is set up in such a manner that the local level must have that in place already today.

The US Constitution gives Fed and State levels freedoms to avoid the 14th Amendment somewhat. The local level pretends it has those powers, too, but it does not. They must follow the 14th Amendment more strictly.

Please read the article, and please continue writing your important work, but please include the rotten system itself next time around.

Minority voters (and this can be minorities of political red, blue, yellow, green, orange or purple) are not represented in this nasty system. Only the majority gets the seat, writing our laws in red and blue. It is a loosely-fitted straight jacket that for some bizarre reason everyone keeps on wearing.

Yes, we can take the first steps to change the system at the local level. Then, once we understand that freedom comes in more than two colors, we can more easily change the State Constitutions. First the local level and then create real democracy at the State level, too. Perhaps by then, the influence of actual representation with more than two colors penetrates to the highest level all by itself.

If we do not change the rotten system, then we end up with a deeper entrenched ‘solution’ established by red and blue. I don’t know if you have ever heard this expression (I heard it from a Canadian), when Americans try to get to the middle, they cross the street.

I understand the violence. It’s very easy to understand. But we have to stop crossing the street while trying to get to the middle. Our system is rotten. If we want to get to the middle, we need a system that allows us to pause at the middle. We need all voting minorities to sit at the tables of representation. Today, we do not have that.

Thank you for your zeal, Andre.
