When I emigrated to the USA in the mid nineties, I was flabbergasted that scientists here said that global climate change (global warming back then) was not a certainty.
For more than ten years (I think it was more like fifteen years) the scientific community in Europe had been telling us with one voice that global warming was real. And then I arrived here and no one had any clue who to believe.
I had no clue that the USA was so divisive to the bone and the population so uneducated. Everything gets spun here until the truth does not know what is left or right, and the media is unfortunately not very helpful in educating the public at large.
I blame the power structure of the USA because you either win and get to decide or you are pushed out. Everyone ends up two-faced, and not well grounded.
And then, everyone says here that this is how the entire world thinks, but that is because the rest of the world is shut out, not listened to. No one cares what the rest of the world thinks; not interesting.
The USA needs a big mirror to look into. It is time to look in that mirror.
One map of the world I consider important:

See how dark red the color is of the USA compared to the light red of Europe. The divisiveness is palpable inside the United States. The gaps between people is extremely wide. Politicians are sitting on their hands. The Supreme Court sits in a higher spot than the US Constitution.
