Years ago, I communicated with Chomsky, not an extensive communication, about the different forms of democracy. I was blown away that he did not have an opinion about voting formats. Basically, he knew nothing about the other form of democracy. He is a red-and-blue thinker and never learned to think in full color.
Your words: "He is, after all, an American citizen. This is his home, his country, and his culture." Yes, he never left red-and-blue behind. He never saw yellow, green and orange. If he saw it, he spun it to red-or-blue.
As long as we hold people like Chomsky in high esteem how to move forward with the USA, then expect to see more red-and-blue, and nothing of yellow, green and orange.
