Yes it can be repaired, and quite easily. All we need to do is follow the US Constitution to the letter and we will end up with a four to five-party system. Then, we will also end up with a well-balanced Supreme Court. Better still, Congress will become more effective (so we will rely less on Supreme Court decisions).

How is that possible? I'll tell you in less than one minute because it is actually not that complex to understand.

The Founding Fathers did (for this quick explanation) two things:

A/ Limit representation at the Federal level, using the English voting system of winner-take-all. They concentrated powers at the Federal level so we would be a strong nation able to withstand foreign enemies and to not get torn apart internally into twenty political directions. Smart!

B/ Immediately thereafter (in the Bill of Rights) the Founding Fathers told everyone else government-wise to stay the hell away from the rights of the People (Ninth and Tenth Amendments).

That's it. They concentrated powers at the Federal level and told everyone else to not and never concentrate powers elsewhere.

What happened?

The powers that be did not want to use the clean voting system that Thomas Jefferson had devised. They were too afraid of it. Using it would mean the powers that be had to share power with all voters and that is not what they wanted. They wanted to concentrate power further (because that is what powers want).

The Founding Fathers did not have a two-party system in mind. They actually were not interested in having parties at all. And when there are five parties, then the parties themselves are indeed not bulwarks of power like the two parties we have today. Five parties means they have to find a partner for two or four years to tango with. Much better than two parties sitting on their hands all day staring at each other, blaming the others, and meanwhile giving too much power to those that benefit most when Congress does nothing.

How to do it?

States and local governments are not allowed to use a voting system that concentrates power away from the People. The Feds can, but no one else can, says the US Constitution.

The easier targets are the cities and counties because they are not mentioned in the US Constitution. Yet (and some folks forget that this is true) they must follow the US Constitution fully. They cannot dance to the State's whims only just because the State said so. Cities and counties must remain within the US Constitution.

The States made it verboten for local governments to use Thomas Jefferson's clean voting system -- and that is unconstitutional.

That is like your landlord walking into your home and saying you cannot cook Brussels sprouts. It is not allowed for the landlord to not allow you that. Got that?

Join us in the good fight. The Founding Fathers are with us. We can eliminate the two-party dictatorship by voting in the clean Thomas Jefferson system in our cities and counties. The wool will come off our eyes so quickly, you would not believe you ever fell into the two-party trap.

Then, we liberated ourselves and we will want our State elections to be free from restrictions as well.

We don't have to change the Federal setup, because when we vote in Free States, we will automatically establish a four or five-party system.

The Founding Fathers were smart by restricting our political expressions at the Federal levels.

The powers that be were mean (and are mean still) because they restricted our voting at governmental levels where they were not allowed to do that.

We can get our Republic back.
